Ray Mitchell brings decades of leadership and people focused experience to his work in Human Resources. After a 30 year career in corporate HR, Ray founded tHRive HR, Inc. in 2020, an HR consulting, executive coaching, and recruiting firm based in Louisville, Kentucky. Through his company, Ray serves clients across the country, helping organizations strengthen leadership, culture, and talent strategies.

Ray has remained deeply connected to Portland Christian School and has served on the Board of Directors for nearly 20 years. He currently serves as Board Chair and is passionate about advancing the mission and long term vision of PCS.

Ray married his high school sweetheart, Dana Marie Mitchell, formerly Dana Taylor, a member of the PCS Class of 1989. They have been married for 33 years and have two children. Their son, Hunter Mitchell, is 30 and currently serves as a teacher at Portland Christian School. Their daughter, Haley Mahone, is 25 and married to James Mahone. Their family also includes their beloved golden retriever, Booker.

Ray holds a Master of Science in Human Resources Leadership from Sullivan University and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management from McKendree University. He also maintains multiple professional certifications in Human Resources. In 2025, tHRive HR, Inc. was named one of the Top Three HR Consulting Firms, and Ray was recognized by Business First as one of the Top 20 HR Leaders to Know in Louisville.
