On Tuesday, April 12, Mr Patrick Henry Hughes shared his talents and life lessons with the student body of the Portland Campus. He was a true blessing to the staff and students. Below is a note Mr. Hughes sent to Mrs. Jodell Seay and two pictures from the Chapel service.
Thank you for the invitation to share our story with your students/staff/faculty and for your kind words. It was a pleasure to be in your school and meet so many wonderful people. God bless you all for the work you are doing in Christ-centered educaton.
We loved listening to the School Song! Tremendous.

A biblically-based chapel service is held on a weekly basis. Worship is enhanced though praise songs and Bible memory work being recited. Local youth ministers and teachers lead the students in their worship time.
The theme for chapel this year is “I have been blessed”. We are encouraging students to bless others and realize their blessings. The elementary students were given the challenge to be “bucket fillers” by treating others with kindness and using kind words. This effort was applied to many mission activities this year. We made cards for the soldiers serving overseas. We collected 118 workbooks for the after school program that Andrew Smallwood, a PSC graduate, is involved in at Johnson Bible College. The National Honor society is currently hosting a penny war to support cancer patients.
Mr. Beck, youth minister and former teacher at PCS, is currently teaching the Portland Campus Elementary about Moses. We have learned about his birth to him leading the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt.
